Mirella Amato

Mirella Amato is a craft beer and sensory consultant. She uses her ten years of international industry experience and credentials to passionately promote beer appreciation, offering a unique perspective and drinker-focused approach that ensures more people enjoy good beer. Simply.

Mirella penned the award-winning book Beerology: Everything You Need to Know to Enjoy Beer…Even More (also available in French.) She contributed to the Oxford Companion to Beer and has a monthly beer column on Radio Canada. An advocate for women in the industry, Mirella founded the Toronto Chapters of both Barley’s Angels and The Pink Boots Society

Mirella is a judge in international beer competition and was the first person outside the US to earn the title of Master Cicerone®. Her company, Beerology® specialises in sensory program development as well as creating tools to communicate innovative fermented beverage flavours, including cocktails and food pairing recommendations.


Joshna Maharaj

Joshna Maharaj is a chef, a two-time TEDx speaker, & activist who wants to help everyone have a better relationship with their food. She believes strongly in the power of chefs & social gastronomy to bring values of hospitality, sustainability, & social justice to the table to nourish people and communities. 

Recently, Joshna has been working with hospitals & universities in Toronto to build new models for institutional food procurement, production and service. She is currently working on a book to capture the lessons and experience and create a shareable blueprint for changing institutional food systems around the globe.

Take Back the Tray is a movement to reconnect food with health, wellness, education, and rehabilitation in public institutions around the globe. And it's a story about how a chef took on the institution and tried to make change. Join the movement and support the campaign @takebackthetray.

Denis Coyne

Denis is a producer of television, film, games, and emerging media. He has guided creative development for partners around the world, recently developing television series in an overall deal with NBC Universal, including a drama series for CBC, and has physically produced projects from short film, theatre, audio, and games. 

He is faculty at George Brown College’s Diploma in Screenwriting & Narrative Design, and previously Ryerson University. Denis also represents a select group of entertainment clients as an agent.
